Introduction to Neuroscience

The brain is undoubtedly the most complex organ in the human body. It helps us think, plan, move, remember, among many other things. And it defines who we are as people. In this course, I invite you to join me in exploring the wonderful intricacies of the human brain. We will cover both what is understood and the many questions remaining to be discovered.

This course is meant to be fun! It won't be heavily focused on the tiny details, but rather on the big picture and how it applies to human health and disease. For example, we'll go over how neurons (brain cells) communicate and the many disorders that arise when neurons die. We will go at the speed that you feel most comfortable with!

High school biology and chemistry are recommended prerequisites. You should know what an ion is and be able to understand basic logarithms.
